If you like history and wildlife, then The Colonial Coast Birding Trail is for you! There are 18 birding sites along the self-guided trail, which follows the Georgia coastline along Interstate 95. The trail begins with Skidaway Island State Park and ends at The Cumberland Island National Seashore.  The beaches, tidal creeks, mudflats, and marshes all provide year-round opportunities to see a wide range of birds.  The trail also guides travelers to an intriguing variety of 18th and 19th century historical places, so even if the birding is “fowl,” you should still be able to learn a little something along the way.
